These rooms use a Cisco Room Bar or Room Bar Pro with a Cisco Navigator touch panel for room controls. You can share content to the room display, join Microsoft Teams or Zoom meetings, and use the room camera, microphone, and speakers with your laptop.
How do I wake up the room?
When the room is not in use, the display is off and the Cisco Navigator is in standby. When you walk into the room, the system detects your presence and enters half-wake mode. Tap the Cisco Navigator screen to fully wake the system.
What controls are available on the home screen?
The home screen has the following buttons:
- Share - opens the share menu to display your screen on the room TV. See How do I share my screen? below for details.
- Microsoft Teams - opens the Teams meeting join screen. See How do I join a Microsoft Teams meeting? below for details.
- Zoom - opens the Zoom meeting join screen. See How do I join a Zoom meeting? below for details.
- Call from laptop - connects a personal device to use the room camera, microphone, and speakers for a meeting (for rooms that have a courtesy cable). See How do I call from my laptop? below for details.
How do I access the sidebar menu?
Tap the side arrow on the right edge of the Cisco Navigator or display to open the sidebar menu. The sidebar provides access to in-room controls that can be used without joining a meeting:
- Camera - opens camera options including self-view and camera mode selection. See How do I control the camera? below for details.
- Microphone - opens microphone settings including noise removal. See How do I control the microphone? below for details.
- Settings - opens the device settings menu (managed by IT).
- Volume slider - adjusts the room speaker volume. See How do I adjust the volume? below for details.
How do I control the camera?
From the sidebar menu, tap Camera. The camera options screen has two tabs:
- Self view - toggle Show self-view on to see what the camera sees on the room display.
- Camera control - select a camera mode to control how the camera frames participants.
The available camera modes are:
- Dynamic (default) - automatically provides the best view based on activity in the room.
- Group - shows everyone in the room.
- Speaker - shows the active speaker.
- Frames - shows everyone at equal size.
- Manual - allows manual camera positioning.
How do I control the microphone?
From the sidebar menu, tap Microphone. From this screen you can:
- Select Noise removal to filter out background noise (recommended).
- Tap Test microphone to record a short clip and play it back so you can confirm the microphone is picking up your voice before joining a call.
How do I adjust the volume?
Use the volume slider at the bottom of the sidebar to increase or decrease the room speaker volume.
How do I share my screen?
From the home screen, tap Share. The share menu displays the available sharing options:
Cable
- PC (USB-C) - connect your device to the Room Bar using the USB-C cable in the room. Your screen will appear on the room display. Most study rooms do not have this feature.
Wireless
Webex Share - from the Webex app on your device, connect to the room automatically or use the code shown on screen. Select Share to begin screen sharing.
AirPlay - start Screen Mirroring from Control Center on your Apple device, select the room name, and enter the passcode shown on screen.
- Select the Control Center icon on your Menu Bar.
- Select the Screen Mirroring icon.
- Select the room number.
- Enter the pin code displayed in your room. This 4-digit code will appear at the top of the screen.
Miracast - on your Windows PC, press WIN + K or click Cast in the Action Center, select the room name, and enter the PIN shown on screen.
- Use the Windows Key and the K Key to access the Cast Menu.
- Select the room number.
- Enter the pin code displayed in your room. This 4-digit code will appear at the top of the screen.
To stop sharing, close the Share pop-up by tapping the X in the top-right corner of the share screen. The system returns to the home screen.
How do I join a Microsoft Teams meeting?
From the home screen, tap Microsoft Teams. Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode from your meeting invitation, then tap Join.
The room will join the Teams meeting using the room camera, microphone, and speakers.
How do I join a Zoom meeting?
From the home screen, tap Zoom. Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode, then tap Join.
The room will join the Zoom meeting using the room camera, microphone, and speakers.
How do I call from my laptop?
Note: This feature is only for rooms that include a courtesy USB C cable.
From the home screen, tap Call from laptop. Connect your personal device to the Room Bar using the USB-C cable provided in the room and open your meeting app.
Once connected, the room camera, microphone, and speakers are available to your laptop for use in any meeting application (Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.).
