Agent Mode is designed to help you create and refine content directly within your Microsoft 365 apps. Here’s how to access and use it:
-
Open the Copilot Chat Panel
In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, look for the Copilot Chat input box (usually located in the sidebar or ribbon). -
Access Agent Mode
Click on the Tools menu within the Copilot Chat panel. From there, select Agent Mode. -
Start Creating or Refining Content
• Type your prompt in the chat box. For example:
“Create a summary of this document” or “Suggest a better layout for this slide.”
• Agent Mode will use web data and referenced files to provide suggestions, improve clarity, and enhance formatting. -
Use Specialized Agents
You can also type @WordAgent, @ExcelAgent, or @PowerPointAgent in the chat box to activate specific agents for advanced tasks like:
• Generating professional reports in Word
• Suggesting formulas and charts in Excel
• Designing slide layouts and speaker notes in PowerPoint
Tip: Agent Mode works best when you provide clear instructions and context. For example, include the purpose of the document or the audience you’re targeting.
