R-Studio Desktop is a set of tools built to enhance productivity with R and Python (languages used for statistical computation and graphics). R-Studio Desktop requires R to be installed as well.
How do I install R?
- The download link for R and R-Studio Desktop can be found here: https://posit.co/download/rstudio-desktop/
- Click on Download and Install R
- Click Download R for Windows
- Click ...install R for the first time.
- Click Download R-4.2.3 for Windows
- Run the install
- Click Yes to allowing the app to make changes.
- Select the default language.
- Click Next to accept the license agreement.
- Select the default install path. Click Next.
- All three components should be checked. Click Next.
- Select No for customized startup. Click Next.
- Leave R as the default Start Menu folder. Click Next.
- Leave Additional Tasks as default. Click Next.
- The program will begin to install. Once completed, click Finish.
- R should now be available in the Windows Programs list
How do I install R-Studio?

- Click Download RStudio Desktop for Windows
- Run the install
- Click Yes to allowing the app to make changes.
- Click Next to continue.
- Leave install path as default. Click Next.
- Leave Start Menu folder as default. Click Install.
- The program will begin to install. Once completed, click Finish.
- RStudio should now be available in the Windows Programs list.
- When opening RStudio for the first time, a prompt will appear about which version of R to use. Leave settings as default, click OK.
