What is OneNote and how do I use it?
OneNote is Microsoft’s digital notebook app that lets you capture, organize, and sync notes across all your devices. It supports typed notes, drawings, screenshots, links, checklists, and more, all saved automatically in real time.
You can use OneNote to:
- Type notes or paste content from other apps and websites
- Write by hand or draw using a stylus or touch input
- Highlight key points and tag action items
- Insert files, images, links, and audio recordings
- Share notebooks for real-time collaboration
- Access your notes anytime using desktop, mobile, or web
How do I get started with OneNote?
To create a new notebook, open OneNote and select File → New, then choose a name and location (such as OneDrive). Use the left-hand navigation to organize notes into sections and pages. You can add content anywhere on a page by clicking or tapping into the workspace.
